15 Mentally Unstable Anime Characters

Mentally Unstable Anime Characters

Who makes up the list of mentally unstable anime characters? Keep on reading to find out.

We never fail to discuss our waifus and husbandos when we get together with other anime fans. You know, we strongly desire to see those ideal characters from anime in the real world.

However, keeping certain anime characters in the two-dimensional space is best. Because if you tried them in real life, you’d probably end up dead.

You’ve come to the right part of the internet if you were searching for a compilation of these anime fanart nutjobs.

1. Katsuki Bakugou (My Hero Academia)

Before you get the wrong idea, let me say that I enjoy this character. On the other hand, I enjoy his role as one of the mentally unstable anime characters; however, if he were to appear in the real world, I would steer clear of him at all costs.

My friend has anger management problems comparable to those of a chihuahua on steroids and tends to take it out on those around him.

If for some reason, you end up with a better grade than this guy, you can count on him to immediately try to take you down.

And that doesn’t even begin to cover the severe bullying he engaged in when they were both much younger and directed toward Deku.

If My Hero Academia had a mature rating, I do not doubt that this dude would have buried a few bodies by now.

I am completely convinced of this. And I’d rather not hang out with a guy who gets so worked up that he must be restrained somehow.

2. Laurent Thierry (The Great Pretender)

Trust is a fundamental component of any successful romantic partnership. And this guy, one of the mentally unstable anime characters, doesn’t care about any of that.

Getting Laurent’s attention is likely one of the worst things that can happen to you because he will use you to further his amusement over the course of many years.

You may walk away with some cash and some interesting tales. However, the undeniable fact remains that you have little to no influence over the situation.

It’s possible to relocate to a new city, meet new people, fall in love, and lead a happy life, only to discover later that everyone you’ve met is a paid actor and that you’ve been acting as the getaway driver for a bank robbery the whole time. Laurent has a significant problem with crossing boundaries.

3. Eris Boreas Greyrat (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation)

I wanted to include only a few people who take advantage of their tsundere friends on this list, but I couldn’t help but bring up Eris, one of the mentally unstable anime characters.

The term “self-absorbed brat” doesn’t even come close to defining this character; I’ve seen Gods with less of an ego than this individual possesses.

She could severely beat you for something as insignificant as having an unusual breathing pattern. And you’ll have to put up with weeks, months, or even years of verbal and physical abuse before she shows even the slightest bit of decency in her behavior.

4. Petelgeuse Romanée-Conti (Re: Zero)

After hearing about his history, I started to feel sorry for this guy, who is also one of the mentally unstable anime characters. Having said that, if I were you, I would get as far away from him as the devil gets from a cross.

If being a member of a sect and having the appearance of a corpse weren’t bad enough, you also have to deal with him picking his face and eating his fingers whenever he is angry. As if that weren’t bad enough.

That’s not even bringing up the fact that there’s a good chance he’ll end up murdering someone at some point in the future.

This would not be a stealthy method of murder, like using poison or a knife, for example. No, it would be a mauling in which he rips limbs off of the victim.

The price of therapy is not commensurate with the sympathetic and heartbreaking history of the patient. He might even require some therapy for himself.

5. Hisoka Morow (Hunter x Hunter)

Being close to this guy is like embracing the dolphin lifestyle and learning to sleep with one eye open. It’s just not worth it. You never know what he’s after or if you’re even on his kill list, so be careful!

And heaven helps you if you have a younger brother or something else that even comes close to being impressive because Hisoka will try to cultivate them into a weapon.

On top of everything else, for goodness’ sake, he’s a clown; little wonder then he is included on the list of mentally unstable anime characters.

And there’s nothing that’ll scare the general public more than a jacked-up clown with a hunger for blood and young boys like you and me.

Most of the characters in the Hunter x Hunter universe are off their rockers, especially Gon. Hisoka, on the other hand, is the one who truly takes the cake when it comes to insanity.

6. Johan Liebert (Monster)

Johan is a peculiar individual, as he does not appear to be unstable. He consistently gives off the impression that he is completely on top of everything in the world and has the potential to be the most charismatic person you will ever meet.

But that’s just the Ted Bundy that lurks inside of him. There is just an excessive amount of ill will surrounding this individual.

And if you spend just five minutes with him, your life could be ruined for all eternity. He is also one of the mentally unstable anime characters.

You never know what might happen if he gets a hold of your nephew and convinces him to jump off the roof or if he lets a psychopath out onto the streets.

And if you ever figure it out and confront him about it, all he will do is stare at you with those lifeless eyes, and it will cause you to second-guess every choice you’ve made leading up to this point in time.

7. Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

Yes, I said it. Rather than hanging out with the emo psychopath, I would rather listen to Naruto’s “believe it” campaign from dusk until dawn.

And that’s saying something when you consider that Naruto possesses the spirit of a demon fox deep within him.

All of this is happening because Sasuke, one of the mentally unstable anime characters, has completely lost his mind and will almost certainly make an attempt to murder you at some point.

He betrayed his allies to achieve victory, and then he had the nerve to challenge Naruto to a fight after the two had just finished working together to end a conflict.

He is also just a huge downer and also one of the mentally unstable anime characters. But I guess that isn’t as important as the fact that he has a history of murdering people.

8. Lucy (Elfen Lied)

I completely understand how someone once in Lucy’s position could wind up the way she is now. But there is no way I will hang out with those people in hell.

When you start talking about things like mass murder, empathy evaporates. It’s just not worth the risk, even if she ends up with amnesia and becomes more relaxed due to it.

As soon as I see someone walking around a laboratory naked and leaving nothing but pieces of dead bodies in their wake, my willingness to be around that person drops to zero. She is none other than Lucy, also one of the mentally unstable anime characters.

Especially when you can’t even anticipate your demise when it comes, it’s as if one minute we’re chilling out and having some ice cream, and the next minute my head is rolling around on the ground. It’s crazy.

9. Fango (91 Days)

On television, mobsters undoubtedly have an alluring air about them. They run entire cities from the shadows while also engaging in badass gunfights. They are always so tough and yet somehow elegant.

On the other hand, you do not want to find yourself in the physical company of a gangster. Especially if they’re Fango-like in personality.

The dude blatantly imitated Eric Cartman by ordering his subordinates to eat their previous superior.

It’s unlikely that even actual gangsters would want to be associated with a person who has their head screwed up to the extent that this one does.

He is far too unpredictable to be kept around; swipe left. This makes him one of the most dangerous, mentally unstable anime characters.

10. Tatsumaki Tatsumaki (One Punch Man)

Suppose you don’t give it too much thought, yes, but only if you do. Yes, she could live up to all of your physical expectations. And the fact that she carries herself with such proudly may be a huge selling element.

Bear in mind, though, how quickly she may murder you. After all, she is the second most powerful hero in the One Punch Man world. And if she even comes near to touching a bottle of booze, you may count your days as numbered.

During her most recent episode of insanity, she used a sword to attack a man repeatedly. The guy lived forever.

But I have a lot of doubts about whether or not inebriated Tatsumaki was genuinely aware of that truth as one of the mentally unstable anime characters.

11. Ryou Asuka (Devilman: Crybaby)

Just so we’re clear, the way this guy was brought up in conversation goes like this: Imagine that you haven’t spoken to a childhood buddy in many years.

They surprise you one day, shoot up a dock, force you to get on a motorbike, transport you to a party where a bloodbath orgy is taking place, and then force you to transform into a demon.

He is the one about whom your mother and father have spent your whole lives warning you. It is also important not to forget that when he was a youngster, he wanted to put down a cat that had been injured, which, although being kind, is quite distressing for a child.

As one of the mentally unstable anime characters, he is the worst type of person to be around, and the only time he showed any kind of decency was after he had brought the whole planet to its knees.

12. Malty Melromarc (The Rising of the Shield Hero)

This person is the result of mashing up every “crazy ex-girlfriend” tale you’ve heard, seasoning it with a healthy dose of luxury, and then putting it all together.

Because you gave her an odd look on that one occasion while you were in kindergarten, she would have you locked up. He is also one of the mentally unstable anime characters.

She is an utter viper who will try to befriend you and get you to let your defenses down so that she might wreck your life to satisfy some silly vengeance that she has.

Or, on the other hand, she will play you like a fool and force you to do all the grunt work. In any case, it is best to keep your distance from her at all costs.

13. Midari Ikishima (Kakegurui)

If you’ve ever spent time with a person who has a problem with gambling, you know what a wild ride it can be.

They may be living big one day, and they could sell their grandma on the dark web the next day. And despite the fact that the preceding illustration was an extreme one, it is still dwarfed by Midari.

Everyone in Kakegurui seems to get a sick kick out of the entire event. As a result, everyone in Kakegurui is eligible for this list of mentally unstable anime characters.

But Midari takes the prize for best in the show. When someone has reached the stage where they are willing to take out a pistol and play Russian roulette with themselves, it is safe to say that they have gone much too far to be associated with.

14. Anna Nishikinomiya (Shimoneta)

Now, here is where a serious conversation has to take place. A good number of males believe that the ideal scenario is to have a woman fantasize about them all the time.

However, no rational individual would endure Anna’s antics for very long. As one of the mentally unstable anime characters, She simply completely disregards any conceivable kind of permission.

Our number one choice is the only attention that is even more detrimental than this psychotic love quest.

15. Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki)

If you’ve ever seen a yandere character before, you probably saw this one coming. Every yandere character is a formidable rival for their spot on this list.

But since Yuno, one of the mentally unstable anime characters was the one who popularized the trope significantly, she gets to be featured on the cover.

The worst thing that could happen to you would be to attract the attention of a yandcove. Your mother will be murdered by Yuno since you answered her phone call even though Anna may follow you and try to give you a sleeping drug.

It is the most predacious kind of conduct imaginable since it will ultimately leave you destitute and compelled to make do with the exact same person who robbed you of all your possessions.
