There are now thousands of best games for Xbox One to choose from, making it difficult to narrow down your options.

We have, however, played a significant number of them throughout the years and had our favorites.

So, here are our recommendations for games you should play.

Some have been upgraded for Xbox One X, and many are also accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a subscription service that allows you to download and play entire games as frequently as you like.

As a result, it does not have to be prohibitively expensive. Below are some of the best campaign games for Xbox One;

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

Despite the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 begins slowly, the depth and variety of mission types will soon have you hooked. It’s also huge, so plan on giving yourself a month to get through everything it has to offer.

You’ll have enough to do even once the single-player campaign is completed, thanks to the addition of Red Dead Online, making it one of the best campaign games for Xbox One.

2. Gears 5

The fifth installment in the Gears of War series – excluding the prequel Judgment – is a masterwork of a game that, for the first time, incorporates open-world aspects to great advantage.

It also has some genuinely unforgettable boss encounters and puts you in the gigantic COG shoes of Kait, the franchise’s first female lead character; this is also one of the best campaign games for Xbox One

3. Borderlands 3

The best Borderlands game yet has been made by Gearbox, making it one of the best campaign games for Xbox One. It feels quite similar to the others in the series, which is to its advantage because it makes it easy to get right in, but there is enough new and updated content to satisfy both fans and beginners.

4. The Outer Worlds

You’ll adore The Outer Worlds if you like action RPGs and crave some true Fallout-style action that’s stripped down to its essentials – i.e., no building crap or other distracting components.

5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

CoD: Modern Warfare is a fantastic game for Xbox One that includes a fantastic single-player campaign and Special Ops.

If there was any doubt in recent years that the Call of Duty franchise was beginning to sag under the weight of its annual nature (albeit with a rotating team of three devs taking turns), this game does a fantastic job of assuaging those concerns. We prefer it over the more recent Black Ops Cold War.

6. Fortnite

Fortnite is one free-to-play best game for Xbox One that appeals to both children and adults. Young and old will enjoy the mix of first-person shooter gameplay, base-building, and cartoon graphics, and with cross-platform play, you can even compete with those on Switch or PS4.

7. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

PUBG, or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is one of the best campaign games for Xbox One credited with launching the now-ubiquitous Battle Royale genre. In terms of home console releases, it began on PC but was released first on Xbox One.

It’s no longer exclusive, but the Xbox One version has a leg up on the PS4 because it’s been out longer, and it looks exceptionally fantastic on the Xbox One X.

8. Metro Exodus

Despite the fact that post-apocalyptic games have been done to death, Metro Exodus manages to put a fresh perspective on the genre, thanks in part to its peculiarly Eastern European viewpoint.

It’s also a wonderful Xbox One game: beautifully built, thoughtfully arranged, story-rich, and gifted with satisfyingly varied and nicely fettled gameplay.

9. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

Valhalla cements the greatest features of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, which breathed new life into the genre. You play as Eivor, a Viking warrior entrusted with settling his people in England, and it’s a thrilling adventure to be had on the Xbox One platform; this game is by far one of the best campaign games for Xbox One

10. Control

If you enjoy third-person shooters, Control provides one that will feel unlike any other you’ve played before, thanks to its bizarre paranormal premise. Control is unique, incredibly distinct, and deeply rewarding in gameplay and mood, thanks to a decent roster of side-missions and challenges outside of the main story.

11. Ori and the Will of the Wisps

This charming platformer, a delightful sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest, will win you over with magnificent artwork and smooth, enjoyable gameplay.

It’s an awesome game to play on Xbox One package all around, and it can be scaled up to provide a significant challenge if the complexity is increased.

Its delicate plot and endearing visuals should linger in mind for a long time. Adding its name to the list of one of the best campaign games for Xbox One.

12. Spyro Reignited Trilogy

This is a fantastic remaster of one of the 90s’ most beloved platform game series for Xbox One. Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon are included, but with a huge, modern graphic and audio update. Toys for Bob had the voice actor for the two sequels revoice Spyro in the first game to maintain continuity.

13. Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 isn’t just one of the best driving games on the Xbox One; it’s one of the best games on any machine. Its Mexican environment is ideal for presenting various race types and conditions. It looks fantastic and has a tonne of material to offer.

14. Hitman 3

The Hitman remake was a fantastic episodic experience, but the next installment is better -perhaps the best stealth game ever.

As an awesome Xbox One game, you’ll require patience, but the sheer variety of options for completing each assassination job will keep you coming back for more.

The episodes from the prior two games have been upgraded in this game so that you can play them again with the new and enhanced game engine.

15. Doom

Doom is all about its single-player campaign, a blood-splattered fantastic beast of a game, regardless of Bethesda’s beliefs or millennial preferences. It’s long, wildly frantic, incredibly satisfying, fabulously gory to look at, and a worthy upgrade to the legendary original.

16. Resident Evil 2

The terror dynamics of the first Resident Evil 2 received a lot of praise at the time, and the 2019 remake makes extensive use of current technology to elevate them to even greater heights. As a result, the new Resident Evil 2 is an absolute masterwork, serving as a textbook example of remaking an old game.

17. Shadow of the Tomb Raider

The third and last installment of Lara Croft’s origin story is also the best. It’s bigger than her previous two films, with a more engaging plot and plenty of tombs to explore.

The skill tree and role-playing components are beautifully realized, and the graphics, especially when played in 4K on an Xbox One X, are breathtaking at times.

18. Monster Hunter: World

The Xbox One game Monster Hunter: World is a brilliantly addicting and endlessly delightful open-world game that offers an experience like none other.

The environments are vibrant, and the RPG components are fantastic and simple to grasp, especially for beginners to the game. You’ll quickly get addicted to its allure and challenges.

19. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

When Electronic Arts acquired the Star Wars license, there was renewed optimism (excuse the pun) that titles like Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and Knights of the Old Republic would be released.

Unfortunately, while Battlefront I and II had amazing multiplayer action and authentic aesthetics, they lacked depth and story.

20. Sea of Thieves

This Xbox One game takes a daring approach to create a fresh and unique gameplay experience. However, it succeeds, and it could be the first game to solve the thorny problem of giving players the tools they need to construct their own stories.

21. Dark Souls 3

As anybody who has played a Dark Souls game knows, Dark Souls 3 is massive, gothic, and filled with bosses who, at first glance, appear impossible to defeat yet are compulsively addictive.

As you battle in the thrilling Xbox One to advance even a few hundred meters, you will despise the drive that propels you back into its fetid realm.

Undoubtedly, there is a plethora of Best campaign games for Xbox one for one’s playing pleasure, coupled with a variety of games yet unexplored on other platforms.
