It’s crazy to think that most of the footage in this movie had been seen by us at some point, but we let it lie dormant until the moon landing was only a black-and-white image in our minds.

This movie gives the moon landing back its old power and does it in a way that is more exciting than anything the Marvel CGI wizards could come up with.

The lively music adds a layer of fierce tension, and the fast pace makes it feel like you’re on a rollercoaster.

If there’s something wrong with this movie, it’s made in the MAGA style and longs for a time and place that never existed.

Spare us the teary-eyed patriotism and the clips of Nixon, a disgraceful criminal and vile racist, talking about the world becoming one.

Still, this is a great example of why most biopics should be documentaries and why people shouldn’t be so afraid of spoilers. A warning: they end up on the moon.

What happens is a heartbreaking story about how fascism, colonialism, and white supremacy spread.

Seeing the animation, which goes from paper mâché to painted walls seamlessly, is mind-boggling.

Similar to most movies like US, the combination of this art that pushes the limits and the horrible things it shows make this a must-see movie.

This makes a clear distinction between old and new, rural and urban, and thrown away and used again.

Fans of Varda will know that she always treats her subjects and the things they use with the same kind of care.

This documentary is a good place to start if you have yet to see any of her other work.

It’s mostly about loss but humorously and lightly discusses modernization and time.

There is still joy to be found among the rubble, and this documentary is also a great source of comfort. This is one of the most thrill-filled movies like US.

Throughout the movie, we see a recurring theme of the family pretending everything is fine, even when it isn’t.

This is exemplified by the death of Martin’s father, which may have been an accident.

Still, the fact that Steven had been drinking on the day of the operation raises questions about who is genuinely responsible.

Lanthimos doesn’t shy away from tackling these heavy themes, making “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” a thought-provoking and impactful film experience.
