The two ladies finally start dating and go on a cross-country road trip together. Kyle Chandler, Carol’s husband, intervenes to stop their getaway, but the trip impacts both women’s lives.

Therese receives assistance from Carol, who is substantially older than her, growing into her own as a young lady. Carol’s path also involves self-determination.

Like movies like “Call Me by Your Name,” “Carol” received multiple Oscar nominations, with Blanchett and Mara receiving accolades for their respective performances. It’s the ideal moment to see this movie if you haven’t before.

  • IMDb rating: 7.7/10

If you’re a sucker for the perfect love story not meant to last, this movie will leave you melancholy.

500 Days of Summer is undoubtedly one of the best romantic movies like Call me by your name of the decade.

Summer Finn does not believe in genuine love after seeing her parent’s divorce.

Also, Tom Hansen is a hopeless romantic who always looks for ‘the one. Marc Webb, the movie’s director, rejects the Hollywood notion of “happily ever after.”

The movie doesn’t follow a linear timeline, flashing back and forth through the 500 days of summer.

From the initial meet-cute to a harsh breakup, sadness, and realization, 500 Days of Summer has it all.

The movie reflects how timelines of love don’t have a regular pattern; rather, they are remembered by heartfelt experiences. It won’t be your typical romantic comedy movie experience with this one.

You get to decide whether Tom and Sam are the perfect anti-rom-com couple or the imperfectly perfect rom-com couple.

  • Director: Francis Lee
  • Cast: Josh O’Connor, Alec Secareanu, Gemma Jones, Ian Hart, Harry Lister Smith, Melanie Kilburn, and Liam Thomas

Unfortunately, it didn’t have the same degree of success as Guadagnino’s movie.

Francis Lee’s movie “God’s Own Country” is based in Yorkshire.

It stars Josh O’Connor as young shepherd Johnny Saxby, who is set on a farm where he lives with his grandmother and dying father.

When a migrant worker from Romania called Gheorghe (Alec Secăreanu) starts working on the farm, Johnny’s life takes a dramatic turn for the better.

Johnny is unhappy with his life and tries to deal by binge drinking and having sex with random people.

Despite their initially hostile relationship, the two men ultimately become good friends and fall in love while working together to deliver lambs.

The environment plays a huge role in “God’s Own Country,” like in “Call Me by Your Name.”

While stunning, the isolated aspect of the Yorkshire environment in which the protagonists live only strengthens Johnny and Gheorghe’s connection.

“God’s Own Country” will stimulate your senses, even if it’s not a fun movie. It could even persuade you to believe a little bit in the power of love.

This is undoubtedly among the amazing movies like call me by your name.

Regarding love, Clive is more concerned with the emotional than the physical, but Maurice disagrees.

More of Clive’s thoughts on how he has to fight his homosexuality is shown in the movie.

There is no happy ending to their romance. Even if it pained Maurice a lot, he isn’t fully shattered.

See how Maurice’s life and love interests pan out in the film. The film occurred in the 20th century when homophobia and classism were pervasive attitudes.

Perhaps one of the best gay films, this story is straightforward and heartfelt.
