YouTube video

Don’t worry if you’re not a great baker (but want to be). You’re not alone. “Nailed It!” is a show that lets inexperienced bakers feel better about their lack of abilities.

It involves three (usually mediocre) bakers competing in two separate challenges to duplicate professional-level pastries and desserts, all for a $10,000 reward.

Additionally, the hosts generally laugh when they see the results, with the difficult chore of judging which baker did the best job of reproducing the original item.

While the primary host, Nicole Byer, may irritate some viewers, you’ll probably have no trouble stomaching the cheesy jokes to see the absurd consequences if you can get through an episode.

While audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes were a respectable 78 percent, the website’s top critics loved the departure from the typical baking show, giving “Nailed It!” a remarkable 98 percent.

The host of the shows is Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres. And other crew members are Weston Bahr and Charity George.

Furthermore, based on her 2017 book of the same name, the four-part series launched on Netflix on October 11, 2018.

Again the title of the show and text originates from Nosrat’s four ingredients of excellent cooking: salt, fat, acid, and heat. Each episode focuses on a new element, with Nosrat traveling to a different area to illustrate how that element is employed in local cuisine.

Additionally, in each episode, Nosrat is accompanied by guides who take her through their nation’s cuisine while she extracts the lessons related to each essential element.

“Half how-to guide for home cooks of all skill levels and part aspirational travelogue,” according to the show’s description. The host of the show is Samin Nosrat.

If you like John Favreau’s 2014 film “Chef,” directed and written by him, you should watch “The Chef Show.”

Because of Favreau’s ties to celebrities like Gwenyth Paltrow and Seth Rogan, each program has guests who join in on the road trip-style experience.

And, of course, the meals prepared and discussed on the show are the kinds of dishes you’ll want to try, with everything from Southern barbecue to Korean cuisine.
