Movies like Deadpool are must-sees because they combine action and comedy. Deadpool is a violent, foul-mouthed mercenary who becomes an anti-hero after a scientist messes with him and makes him look horrible for good.

But because I didn’t expect much from Deadpool, I liked it more than I thought I would. So I supported the cocky, aggressive figure with no regard for human life.

Without a doubt, if you’re anything like me, you’ve been hoping for more movies like Deadpool. I made a list of movies like Deadpool because I’m a big fan.

1. Iron Man (2008)

  • Director: Jon Favreau
  • Star cast: Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Leslie Bibb
  • IMDb rating: 7.9/10

While not as vicious and bloodthirsty as other movies like Deadpool, Iron Man can be chaotic when he desires. They are both scarred; they know what it’s like to be in the clutches of death and survive.

While they both play larger-than-life personalities, they are both shattered and in anguish. It allows viewers to identify with imperfect heroes such as Iron Man and Batman. It demonstrates that they’re all just people.

If you’re seeking good action movies, start with the Iron Man series. The first movie sets up the story for something bigger, and the rest of the movies build on it. Overall, this is a good series.

2. Spawn (1997)

4. The Voices (2014)

  • Director: Marjane Satrapi
  • Star cast: Ryan Reynolds, Anna Kendrick, Gemma Arterton, Olivier Bernet, Adi Shankar
  • IMDb rating: 6.3/10

Ryan Reynolds appears to specialize in dark comedy. Before movies like Deadpool became famous, he was still working on films like The Voices. He plays a man who is confused and thinks his cat and dog can talk to him.

While Jerry appears charming on the surface, he is a dangerous man ready to snap at any moment. Everything seemed to be going well for him.

But, things go wrong when a female he meets declines him on a date. What is he going to do? Will he pay attention to the ominous whispers in his head?

The distinguishing thing about this movie from others in its genre is that it can still make you chuckle, even in its darkest moments.

This movie is amazing, given how rapidly moods may change. Overall, this is a terrific film with a nice mix of comedy and serious drama.

5. The Punisher (2004)

  • Director: Jonathan Hensleigh
  • Star cast: Thomas Jane, John Travolta, Rebecca Romijn, Laura Harring, Kevin Nash, Ben Foster
  • IMDb rating: 6.4/10

When The Punisher was released, I was not a huge fan of comic book adaptations. Still, I decided to try it, and I was pleasantly surprised by how grimy and dark it was.

The Punisher recounts the story of an ex-FBI agent who has everything a person could want. A wonderful life, a wonderful wife, and two lovely children.

Things turn for the worst when the mob discovers they witnessed a murder and murders them. Frank is so upset by the tragedy that he becomes a nightmare killer to avenge his family’s deaths.

Suppose you want to see more of the Punisher’s exploits. In that case, you could watch Daredevil, a Netflix show in which the character appears in the second season.

He appears to be staying on our television screens for the foreseeable future, just like movies like Deadpool.

In addition, Netflix has ordered a solo TV series based on the life of Frank Castle. I, for one, am relieved that he will get some well-deserved screen time.

6. Zombieland (2009)

  • Director: Ruben Fleischer
  • Star cast: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Bill Murray, Amber Heard
  • IMDb rating: 7.6/10

The college student has avoided contact with the infected, while the AK-wielding badass savagely murders every infected. He adores it. When they meet two females, one of whom is allegedly bitten, things turn for the worst.

Horror comedies frequently go wrong. I’ve seen them come apart several times before. I’m happy that Zombieland checks all the boxes for a solid horror comedy.

The narrative, characters, and cinematography are all excellent. If you’re seeking a one-of-a-kind film, movies like Deadpool and Zombieland will not disappoint.

Some people connect it to films like [REC] and The Blair Witch Project because they are both discovered footage films.

The resemblance, however, ends there. To understand what movies like Deadpool feel like, you must watch this movie.

When three high school friends leave a party to check out a tunnel, they get strange abilities. When they figure out how to utilize them, the fun lasts just a short time until things go wrong. Who could stop them from succumbing to the dark side?

The entire film is told through the eyes of Andrew, one of the individuals who gained such abilities. It was reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project. The only difference was that I cared about the people in this story.

Just like movies like Deadpool, although it starts slowly, you’ll notice that it gradually ramps up the pace, building to a tense finale.

The story centers on a little community in Alaska where the sun does not rise for one month every year. As the town descends more into disorder, the savage vampires use the chance to attack anybody they wish.

Those who have made it thus far must endure the next month without starving or being drained dry. One of the things I enjoyed most about this picture was the constant sense of fear and misery.

It fits with the atmosphere and narrative. Just like in movies like Deadpool, this film never allows you to relax with its thrills.

10. Watchmen (2009)

  • Director: Zack Snyder
  • Star cast: Malin Åkerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, Carla Gugino, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup

The story took place in a different 1985 when all of our heroes and vigilantes were forced to retire early. When one is killed for no apparent reason, the whole squad is called to help find the killers.

They solve the mystery, finding a larger and more nefarious conspiracy. The true brilliance of this film is its capacity to make you laugh and cry simultaneously. But, of course, our superheroes aren’t flawless, nor do they have to be.

Aside from a compelling narrative and superb performances, the music and images are noteworthy. The special effects are employed in several locations.

However, they are not abused. If you want to see an excellent movie, just like movies like Deadpool, you should see Watchmen.

11. The Crow (1994)

  • Director: Alex Proyas
  • Star cast: Brandon Lee, Rochelle Davis, Michael Wincott, Sofia Shinas, Bai Ling, Michael Massee, Ernie Hudson
  • IMDb rating: 7.5/10

Despite the odds stacked against him, Deadpool manages to live. Unfortunately, our protagonist was not that fortunate. He is cruelly slaughtered, only to be resurrected a year later by a crow.

He is invincible and more menacing than ever in his new existence. The crow guides him to the criminals, assisting him in reducing their number.

Unfortunately, things get out of hand as one comes dangerously close to discovering the vigilante’s secret. While the aesthetics are impressive, the major draw is a brutal storyline that never lets up.

Michael Wincott gives an outstanding performance. He plays a bad guy who is mean and scary and will do anything to get what he wants.

If you enjoy movies like Deadpool, you’re already a bloodhound. On the other hand, you could come to like cutting, impaling, stabbing, and shooting. Everyone should watch it.

12. Sin City (2004)

Based on a renowned comic series, Sin City tells the narrative of four characters with opposing goals in a city where crime and corruption are at an all-time high. It stars a man who takes the law into his own hands.

A muscular person is determined to uncover those responsible for his Goldie’s death, a cop eager to do all to save a lady, and an assassin seeking some extra cash.

Just like movies like Deadpool, everything fits together nicely. From the casting to the perfect directing, it’s difficult to find anything wrong with the film. It’s brutal yet also funny. Even at its darkest times, it makes you laugh.

Movies like these have raised the standard for comic book adaptations significantly. Let’s hope we see more films like this in the future.

When he eventually fights off some bad guys, he gains a lot of followers thanks to a YouTube video.

But, unfortunately, everything goes wrong when a major New York mafia views the footage. Overall, this short, action-packed film will keep you entertained, Just as in movies like Deadpool.
