There have always been WWE 2k games for those hardcore fans who aren’t ready to step into the ring or jump off the top rope, whether it’s the Hulkster, John Cena, the People’s Champion, or Stone Cold.

Microleague Wrestling, the first WWE video game, was released in 1987 and was accessible on retro consoles such as Atari, Amiga, Commodore 64, and MS-DOS PCs.

On New Consoles, the WWF Wrestlemania Games series began. WWF Superstars was first released for Archade and later expanded to include Gameboy platforms.

In 1992, Sega consoles gave the WrestleMania series a new medium. In the beginning, Acclaim Entertainment was the primary publisher of WWE games.

Furthermore, in 1999, WWF Attitude was released as the first Playstation game. In the following years, the SmackDown series, which began in 2000, remained exclusive to PlayStation and PlayStation Portable consoles.

10. WWE 2K22

This is the newest WWE 2k game. WWE 2K22 is a professional wrestling video game released by 2K Sports and developed by Visual Concepts.

It’s the twenty-sixth game in the WWE video game franchise and the tenth under the WWE 2K label. The game was unveiled during WrestleMania 37 in April 2021, when a teaser trailer was presented.

The news comes nearly a year after 2K Sports discontinued WWE 2K21, following in the footsteps of WWE 2K20. An official trailer for the game was released on January 20, 2022, along with the game’s official release date of March 11, 2022. Rey Mysterio was named the main cover star for the Deluxe and Standard editions.

9. WWE 2k20

Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, Xbox one

Visual Concepts and 2K Sports have released WWE 2K20, a professional wrestling video game.

It was published for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 22, 2019. It’s the twenty-first game in the WWE video game franchise and the seventh under the WWE 2K label.

This WWE video game sequel to WWE 2K19, 2K20, is the first game in the series not to be created by Yuke’s, who have been responsible for every entry since the series began in 2000. 

WWE 2K20’s 2K Showcase mode is centered on the WWE’s Four Horsewomen (Bayley, “The Man” Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks).

In 15 matches, players take control of distinct Bayley, Banks, Lynch, and Flair models. However, the 2K Towers mode, which debuted in WWE 2K19, was brought back to the series.

Furthermore, the story takes place in 2029, 11 years after the end of the WWE 2K19 MyCareer storyline, when Red and Tre were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2029 which occurred before Wrestlemania 45, known in-game as Wrestlemania 2029.

As a fictional version of that year’s event and 11 years after the end of the WWE 2K19 MyCareer storyline, the matches follow their career perspectives. During the plot, The Rock served as President of the United States.

According to review aggregator Metacritic, WWE 2K20 garnered “unfavorable reviews” across all platforms following Yuke’s departure.

8. WWE 2k19

Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Xbox OnePlaysation 4, 

WWE 2K19 is one of the professional wrestling 2k video games developed by Yuke’s. On October 9, 2018, it was published worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

It is the sequel to WWE 2K18 and the twenty game in the WWE game series (sixth under the WWE 2K name). After 18 years of development within the brand, Yuke’s released WWE 2K19, the franchise’s final game. 

This is one of WWE video games that focuses on Daniel Bryan’s career. Players control different versions of Daniel Bryan in other matches.

Including his Velocity match against John Cena as his real name, Brian Danielson, and a secret 12th battle at Wrestlemania as a fictional fight against his former self.

Furthermore, according to review aggregator Metacritic, WWE 2K19 garnered generally good reviews. The game was nominated for the Gamers’ Choice Awards for Fan Favorite Sports/Racing game and the Australian Games Awards for Sports, Racing, or Fighting Title of the Year.

7. WWE 2k Battleground

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is one of the professional wrestling video games published by 2K Sports and developed by Saber Interactive.

It was posted on September 18, 2020, in place of 2K’s annual WWE game, which was canceled owing to development issues, low sales, and unfavorable feedback from WWE 2K20, which had previously been released.

Furthermore, Critics praised the game’s art aesthetic and cooperative gameplay modes but criticized its usage of microtransactions and lack of gameplay elements.

However, Cory Wells gave the game a somewhat more favorable review for Hardcore Gamer, praising the game’s reduced retail price point and potential to be played as a party game but agreeing that microtransactions and the lack of selectable characters ruined the experience.

6. WWE 2k18

WWE 2K18 is one of the professional wrestling video games released by 2K Sports and developed by Yuke’s. It’s the nineteenth game in the WWE game series (and the fifth under the WWE 2K name), and it’s a sequel to WWE 2K17.

It was published on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 17, 2017.

WWE 2K18 is one of the professional 2k wrestling games, similar to its predecessors, and for the first time since WWF SmackDown! Eight can compete at once in Just Bring It instead of six wrestlers.

New mechanics, finishes, and elimination procedures have been added to the Royal Rumble contest. A carry feature was introduced (akin to WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007’s Ultimate Control Grapple system), allowing players to pick up or pull their opponent and position them in a precise spot.

The game has been updated with thousands of new moves and animations.

Furthermore, according to review aggregator Metacritic, WWE 2K18 garnered “mixed or mediocre” reviews. The Nintendo Switch version garnered “mostly negative” feedback, and it was widely panned due to its inevitability of flaws.

5. WWE 2k17

WWE 2K17 is a professional wrestling video game for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows developed by Yuke’s and published by 2K Sports.

It’s the eighteenth game in the WWE video game franchise and the fourth under the WWE 2K label.

In WWE 2K17, there are several different game modes to choose from in this WWE 2k games. Unlike prior installments in the 2K series, WWE 2K17’s base game does not include a single-player story mode.

In addition, Play mode allows the player to enter a rapid match with their specific parameters, such as match kinds, participants, etc.

In MyCareer mode, players can construct their superstar and fight for titles on the main roster and in NXT. MyCareer is available only on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

Furthermore, According to the review aggregator Metacritic, WWE 2K17 received mixed reviews. GameSpot panned the game for lacking a 2K Showcase option, which was dropped in favor of enhancing the “MyCareer” mode, which had already been panned for its lack of progress.

The game is the first in the WWE 2K series. It was published in North America on October 29, 2013. In Japan on October 30, 2013. Furthermore, in Australia on October 31, 2013, and in Europe and India on November 1, 2013.

According to review aggregator Metacritic, the Xbox 360 version received “generally favorable” reviews, while the PS3 version received “average” reviews.
