1. Chaika- The Coffin Princess

Similar to anime like Shield Hero, this anime is not your typical Fantasy Adventure anime.

The story takes a cynical turn because of it. But the main thing the two anime have in common is that two of the characters are blonde and lolis.

In both anime, it’s funny to see how they use violence to try to solve most of their problems.

The story is about a mysterious sorceress who is 14 years old and always carries a coffin with her.

She can’t remember anything about her past, and she only knows that she needs to find the scattered pieces of Emperor Gaz.

Then she meets Toru and his adopted sister Akari soon after, and they decide to help her reach her goal.

They set on a long and strenuous journey, unaware of the deadly threats waiting for them.

2. Plunderer

There are many ways in which the main characters of Plunderer and anime like Shield Hero are alike.

For example, society looks down on and avoids both Naofumi and Licht. Only because they are Legends are they being chased.

Raphtalia and Hina, on the other hand, are very innocent and helpless until they meet the series’ main characters.

Plunderer takes us to a world called Alcia, where every person has a number written on their body called a “count.”

The count can go up or down depending on how the person lives. Hina’s mom’s number goes to zero, and she falls into the abyss.

Hina’s mother’s last request was that she find a Legendary Ace. Now, Hina has to go on a quest to find Licht Bach, the Legendary Hero.

3. Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

The main characters of Rising of the Shield Hero and Cautious Hero share the same fate of fighting monsters and then leveling up.

But Cautious Hero is more on the lighter side while Rising of the Shield Hero is darker. If you liked watching anime like Shield Hero, you’d also like Cautious Hero.

4. Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage

Anime like Shield Hero and Reikenzan Hoshikuzu-Tachi No Utage is about empire-building.

However, they focus more on how the main character gets stronger through training. But the second one is more fun than the first one.

The main character of the story is Lu Wong. He decides to take part in an exam to find a child who will die because of the Falling Comet.

That comet will do damage to people. Lu Wong’s soul is so special that it only occurs once every thousand years.

He wants to learn a lot and become a powerful mage if chosen.

5. Radiant

Similar to anime like Shield Hero, the enemies in Radiant come from the sky in strange waves or unknown places.

Both main characters have to deal with people who claim to be religious but don’t believe in them.

The way they use weapons is also a lot the same. They’re not super smart or strong, but they manage to get through everything.

Radiant tells the story of mysterious enemies descending from the sky and vaporizing everything they encounter.

Monsters and demons can only be fought by people who know how to use magic.

Seth is the main character, and he goes on a journey with Doc and Melle to kill the bad monsters.

They want to make a world where people don’t think of them as sick but as normal sorcerers.

6. The Irregular At Magic High School

No issekai is a true issekai unless it has some kind of Harem. In both these anime, we see a Harem of pretty girls forming around the MC.

Our main characters are underrated, but they prove everyone wrong when they show what they’re made of.

If you liked Rising of the Shield Hero, you’re sure to enjoy The Irregular at Magic High School.

The story starts in 2095, when magic is commonplace. It has turned into a new kind of technology.

Miyuki Shiba and her brother Tatsuya Shiba are preparing to start their first year at Japan’s famous First Magic High School.

Because of the difference in their skills, Miyuki ends up in Brilliant Course 1 and Tatsuya in Brilliant Course 2.

At Magic High School, this is just the beginning of their problems. If you enjoy anime like Shield Hero, watch this series.

7. Dog Days

The main characters in anime like Shield Hero and Dog Days have the same happen: they are called to a strange Fantasy World where they have to fight monsters using Legendary Weapons.

Dog Days have similar Animal Girls that you’d swoon over. The tone of the two anime is different, but that’s it. Everything else is the same.

Dog Days tell the story of Shinku, a normal middle school student who gets called to a fantasy world full of creatures with animal ears.

Princess Millhiore from the region Biscotti called her, and we were very glad to get her desperation.

Shinku finds out he won’t be able to return home after all. He has no choice but to train hard to fight for Biscotti’s honor.

But the kind animal people in this new world help him find a way to return home.

8. Mysterious Play

Anime like Shield Hero and Mysterious Play begins with the main characters being sucked into a book and taken to a Fantasy World where they are called to do something to fulfill a prophecy.

They are supposed to find other people on their quest and join forces with them to fight evil.

Two best friends, Miaka and Yui, read The Universe of the Four Gods when they get issekai’d to another world. This is how the mysterious play starts.

When they arrived, Miaka was made the Priestess of Suzaka, where she was meant to save them.

The story involves a lot of heartbreak and betrayal, just like in The Rising of the Shield Hero.

9. Stigma of the Wind

The only thing Kaze no Stigma and anime like Shield Hero have in common is that the main characters are left behind and betrayed by the people they trust most.

That betrayal made them better and stronger than they had been before.

So they come back 10 times stronger. Kaze no Stigma is about Kazuma, who was kicked out of the Kannagi family because he couldn’t use their fire magic.

Returning to Japan, he learns that the Kannagi family is in trouble. Kazuma trains and becomes a Contractor, gaining immense wind magic.

He wants money in exchange for him and his little brother, Ren, helping the Kannagi family.

Ayano, who has red hair and is the heir to the Kannagi family, also helps them save her family.

10. Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon

Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon This community, conversely, depends on mana, magical energy.

Those who can’t use it are given a “norma” and made to work as soldiers and Paramail flying robots.

Angelica is the same as Ernesti, but she comes from a different place and needs a mecha to fight dragons, which are big animals.

Early on in Cross Ange, the main character (MC) is betrayed terribly, which changes him as Naofumi did in anime like Shield Hero.

Both main characters are wary of anyone who tries to get close to them. They find it hard to trust anyone.

Both anime are mostly about how scumbag society is and how it treats some people unfairly.

The theme of Loli-Harem, which is pretty clear in both anime, is similar.

11. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

Both MCs are interested in girls and have no shame about showing their sexy sides.

The stories of both anime are also very similar, with the main characters having special powers and skills.

The story is about Bell Carnel, a young, innocent boy who wants to be the greatest and strongest adventurer.

Soon, he meets a goddess named Hestia. With her help, he is very close to reaching his goals.

But his path is more challenging than it looks. To prove the honor of his familiar, he must fight through dungeons full of bloodthirsty monsters and strange creatures.

This anime takes the Hero-to-Zero path, similar to anime like Shield Hero.

There are also demigods, elves, weird monsters, and demi-humans living there. They are also alike because the main character (MC) gets a Harem.

This anime takes place in the World of Orario, where adventurers work together to search for treasures in the dungeons.

Our MC Cranel was more interested in finding girls than the treasure, which we thought was very strange. He soon realizes that what he’s doing in the Dungeon could even cost him his life.

12. Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Suppose you worked so hard on a game that you dreamed about it. Wait! This is real life, not a dream.

He thinks this when Ichirou Suzuki wakes up in an RPG Isekai world after he fell asleep while fixing bugs in the game

So, he thinks he must have been pulled into that dream world by a bug. He is called Satou in this new world.

Since he is the younger version of himself, he has to deal with problems immediately.

Satou realizes he is in an RPG world where magic is the most important thing because lizardmen are attacking, and strange creatures are everywhere.

That’s when the person in charge of this RPG decides to join in and become the most badass person the world has ever seen.

When he ranks 310 as an adventurer, the world gets too hard for him to handle on his own. The show does a great job of showing how an Isekai anime should be.

Anime like Shield Hero and Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody has the same tropes, like fighting monsters or calamities to level up, enslaving, traveling, and farming land. They have the same feel.

13. Absolute Duo

Their main characters also have similar weapons. They use shields to fight, and their fighting style is also very different.

They give up being good people to protect the people they care about.

Tooru Kokonoe is the main character in the story. His sister and a friend died in a terrible accident caused by a mysterious man.

Then he signs up for Koryo Academy to get more power.

Every student at the academy has a weapon that shows what their soul is like. Tooru can only see blood and is ready to get his own back.

Now, Tooru has a strange thing happen, so his weapon is a shield. He must get used to fighting with the shield to attain more power. If you enjoy anime like Shield Hero, this series is for you.

14. Redo of Healer

There are some dark themes in this anime that some people might not like.

In this story, the main character (MC) gets beat up a lot, and it’s a constant part of his life.

He loses his humanity, returns even stronger, and brutally avenges the people who hurt him.

In the story, Keyaru is a magician and healer who keeps getting sexually abused by other people.

His class is the strongest, but he doesn’t know that. By the time he sees what he could have been, he has already lost everything.

He finds a way to go back in time and make things right, including giving his abusers a few kicks in the behind.

Redo of Healer is a fairly new anime that resembles Rising of the Shield Hero. In both Betrayal and “Revenge, it’s pretty clear what the main idea is.

Not to mention that both of our main characters change completely. On a lighter note, Redo of Healer can be considered an anime like Shield Hero on steroids.

15. How NOT To Summon a Demon Lord

We have the type of main character who is more of a villain than a hero. In anime like Shield Hero, we also see something like this.

There is also a harem of beautiful girls who get too attached to the main character, just like in Rising of the Shield Hero.

We wouldn’t tell you to stop watching How Not to Summon a Demon Lord because it’s interesting. The story is good!

The anime is about a guy who isn’t very good at making friends and who ends up in a fantasy world like Diablo, a character from a game he played a lot.

He acts like a Demon Lord in the new world, getting a cat-girl and an elf as enslaved people. It’s just the beginning of their adventure.

They’ll have to deal with their relationships and fight monsters every day.

16. Seven Deadly Sins

Seven Deadly Sins and anime like Shield Hero have main characters branded as traitors and bad guys by a corrupt political system.

They both get stronger to get back at the person who hurt them and to protect the people they care about.

But in Rising of the Shield Hero, our main character is angrier than in Seven Deadly Sins. But we find both of them super cute!

The first part of Seven Deadly Sins is set in a world like Europe in the Middle Ages.

Princess Elizabeth is King Barta Liones’s adopted daughter. She wants to find the Seven Deadly Sins to protect her family and the kingdom.

On her journey, she soon meets Meliodas, and it turns out he is the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins.

They both keep looking for the rest of the Sins and fight against the bad Holy Knights who want to capture Princess Elizabeth and lock her up.

17. Spice and the Wolf

Spice and Wolf (Ookami to Koushinryou) Lawrence Craft, a street vendor, goes worldwide to sell all kinds of things.

After going to the city, he returned to his car to find a girl sleeping under a haystack. Wolfgirl says that she has ears and a coyote tail.

She says that people call her God, but her name is full and nothing else. Lawrence made the girl a little bit angry.

But when she found out more about her, she decided to move and go after her to the north.

They have many different adventures during their trip and often get into trouble. But as time went on, their relationship grew stronger.

One thing Spice and Wolf and anime like Shield Hero have in common is that there are “Human-Demi-Human” relationships. In a large-scale Fantasy World, some trade is also going on.

Both anime take place in the Middle Ages, which is another similarity.

Not only that, but the main female characters, Raphtalia and Holo, are a lot alike. They both look the same.

18. Sorcerous Stabber Orphen

As soon as the anime began, everyone called our main character Naofumi a bad guy, and that’s exactly what happened in Sorcerous Stabber Orphen.

The idea of a goody-two-shoes main character who changes his ways after being betrayed is clear in both anime.

The story is about Orphen, who is desperate to find the Sword of Baltanders, and Azelie, who was a human but turned into a dragon.

He journeys with his apprentice Majic and his partner Cleao to get Azelie out of jail.

Orphen must figure out how to use the Sword of Baltanders, or he will lose everyone he cares about.

19. Akame ga Kill

We have one of the best Dark Fantasy anime, similar to anime like Shield Hero. We have a very bad government in both of the anime.

Our MCs are real rebels who won’t put up with crap from the king or queen and will take it down no matter what.

If you liked watching Rising of the Shield Hero, you’d love Akame ga Kill.

In Akame ga Kill, the main character (MC) is a happy-go-lucky but naive guy who leaves his village and goes to the empire to find work.

He has no idea what terrible things will happen to him there.

As soon as he gets to the empire, he gets in trouble with a secret group of assassins called Night Raid, who take him in.

Now, Tatsumi and the other people in Night Raid must fight against the empire’s bad ways.

20. Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense

In both anime, there are Shield Heroes who are more about defense than attack.

Both anime occurs in a world like an MMORPG, where the characters fight monsters to level up.

Rising of the Shield Hero has many dark themes, while the other is just plain MOE.

In this one, the main character is a woman who plays a very popular VRMMO game where she names her character Maple.

She isn’t very experienced with video games, so she gives her character the best defense possible because she wants to win.

Surprisingly, this works very well, and she gets third place for the whole server in an event. She gets popular with many followers in the game.

Even though Maple is strong, it has a lot to learn. She meets many new people in the game who help her finish events and level up.

21. No Game No Life

We have another anime with the same features and rules as anime like Shield Hero.

Even though both MCs are treated like crap, they have to put their pride aside to save the fantasy world they’re in.

The only thing that makes these two anime different is how they sound.

If you like anime like Shield Hero but want a little less sad, we suggest you check out No Game, No Life.

Sora and Shiro, who are brothers, are huge NEETS, and the anime is mostly about them.

They get invited to play a game that will transfer them to a Fantasy world only if they beat it. Both siblings are very good at games, so they win without trying.

Sora and Shiro are taken to a world where games and competitions decide everything, just as they were told they would.

Now, both must take on every obstacle that comes their way to restore humanity.

22. Goblin Slayer

Both Goblin Slayer and Shield Hero are not your average Dark fantasy anime.

They will keep you on the edge of your seats with what’s coming next.

Both involve fighting and killing monsters to level AND an obvious Harem around the MCs. Both the manga and the anime have very good plots.

Goblin Slayer is just about slaying Goblins. Our main character has had a bad experience with goblins, and as he grew up, all he wanted to do was kill every single one of them.

He forms a guild that includes a priestess, a half-elf, a dwarf, and a lizardman. They go on different missions to eliminate goblins and other scary creatures.

23. Log Horizon

30,000 Japanese gamers got trapped in an RPG game called “Elder Tale.” As if life wasn’t hard enough for these gamers, no one could log out after its new update!

Among all the 30,000 gamers, we have Shiroe, a socially awkward guy like Reudeus from Mushoku Tensei. He was considered weak because he was Isekai’d into the video game.

However, with the power of his expert brain and strategizing, he becomes an essential part of his team.

Like Mushoku Tensei, both characters used to get angry when they lost.

But being reborn changed their lives in a big way. Log Horizon is ideal if you want to watch the finest animation with great action!

We have a very similar drama/comedy balance in both anime. The MMORPG features like forming parties, leveling up, trading, and stuff are the same in anime like Shield Hero and Log Horizon.

24. Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers

Let’s start with the one where the main character improves and gets his revenge brutally at the show’s end.

It’s also much like the game Among Us if you’ve ever played it. In that game, we have to find the traitor and kill him.

In the anime, six heroes are called to help when the god of evil wakes up.

Each hero gets superpowers that will help them beat the bad god. One of the heroes who will fight the evil god is our main character, Adlet.

But when the heroes finally meet, they find seven heroes when there should only be six. Now, they need to find out who the fake is so that nothing else goes wrong.

The main character and anime like Shield Hero are accused of doing something wrong in Rokka no Yuusha.

They get very angry after being left out, and their personalities change quickly.

They both have something similar to a loli-harem. Even how our main characters fight monsters is very similar between the two anime.

25. The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime takes place in an issekai world.

Its story is similar to Seven Deadly Sins, which also occurs in an issekai world. Both of them are set in medieval times.

The MCs of both anime are happy-go-lucky but can be very serious when needed.

Both of these anime have many interesting and easy characters to like. Even the color schemes of both anime are quite similar.

The story is about a 32-year-old corporate enslaved person tired of his monotonous life.

But after dying at the hands of a thief, he wakes up to a new fantasy world. But as a SLIME! He likes being a slime and finds out that he has exciting powers.

He befriends many monsters and embarks on a journey full of adventures and, of course, predicaments!

Anime like Shield Hero and The Time I Got Reborn as a Slime did a good job with their issekai settings, and fans worldwide love them.

Our MCs in both anime are initially considered weak with low status but gradually become OP with great analytical skills.

26. The Legend of the Legendary Heroes

Anime like Shield Hero and The Legend of the Legendary Heroes takes place in the same world and have a main character with new powers that he has trouble controlling.

The MCs are treated like trash for one reason or another.

In both anime, the loyal partners of the main characters are also present. We also have a lot of beautiful secondary female characters that will make you swoon.

In The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, Ryner has a strange power called the Alpha Stigma, which is more like a curse.

He is treated like a monster by the people around him. Ryner teams up with Ferris and quests to find the Hero Relics and clean up the government.

They have to be very careful with the people around them because one wrong move could upset them, leading to bad things happening to them.

27. Overlord

Like Rising of the Shield Hero, Overlord is a pure Dark Fantasy anime. Here’s another way that Overlord is similar to anime like Shield Hero, but on steroids. It is even darker and sad than Rising of the Shield Hero.

Overlord would amuse you if you enjoyed watching Rising of the Shield Hero. At the start of the anime, Momonga is taken into Yggdrasil, his favorite MMORPG game.

He finds himself in the body of Ainz Ooal Gown. Momonga had an EXTREMELY strong personality.

He had nothing better to do, so he decided to take over the world he was in.

So, he started looking for tough opponents who could beat him and enjoyed his new life as the powerful mage Ainz Ooal Gown.

28. Konosuba

Even though these anime have different moods, they are both about a main character who gets stuck in a fantasy world.

You will find out that the Harem forming around both of the MCs has a lot in common with each other!

The story of Konosuba is about Kazuma, a NEET, and a SHUT-IN. He gets hit by our Truck-Kun and is taken to a fantasy world.

In that world, he meets a goddess who is a big airhead, a dorky mage, and a strange lady knight, all of whom make his problems worse when they are with him.

Sure, with all these beautiful women around him, our main character must look like the luckiest man in the world.

Kazuma has to go about his daily life with these naughty dummies and do quests for money in exchange. If you enjoy anime like Shield Hero, follow this series.

29. Sword Art Online

Most people hate the main characters in Sword Art Online and anime like Shield Hero.

They don’t know anyone in this new world but want to protect the people they care about.

They also have a world like an MMORPG where fighting different monsters is the only way to level up.

The anime started in 2022 when gamers eagerly awaited the release of Sword Art Online.

This most popular MMORPG game will give them a whole new level of Virtual Reality. Kirito is one of the gamers who signed up for the game’s beta testing.

He and others are trapped inside the game and can’t escape. Kirito must try to survive the game, fighting monsters and beating some extremely powerful bosses.

30. Re: Zero

Even though Re: Zero doesn’t have a group of bad kids with bad tempers, Tokyo Revengers and Re: Zero can travel back in time to save their loved ones.

Re: Zero revolves around Natsuki Subaru, who got hit by our famous Truck-kun and was issekai’d to a completely different world.

As soon as he arrives in the new world, he meets Emilia, a half-elf with silver hair, and dies trying to save her. He finds himself alive again after a few hours to die.

After dying a few times, he discovers that he has a mysterious power that lets him return to life and turn back time.

He finally succeeds in helping her, and out of gratitude, Emilia takes him to her palace and lets him stay there as a butler.

Slowly, Subaru starts to like Emilia, and he decides that he will help her become the next queen no matter what.

But his journey is hard and painful because he meets a lot of dangerous bad guys who are after Emilia.

Now, will Subaru overcome all the suffering while having a bunch of good companions by his side and be able to make Emilia’s wish come true? If you want to find out, watch this breathtaking anime like Shield Hero.
